Develop the practical skills and confidence to teach, train and assess learners effectively in vocational, technical and workplace environments. This course prepares you to plan lessons, deliver engaging training, assess competence, and manage learner performance to City & Guilds standards.
Training Location: Dugbe, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria
Course Duration: 8 weeks — 3 hours per session × 3 sessions per week (72 guided learning hours)
Entry Requirements: Minimum literacy and numeracy, basic IT confidence; previous occupational experience preferred for assessor candidates.
Certification: City & Guilds aligned (C&G Certified) — award issued on successful completion of practical assessments, knowledge checks and a moderated portfolio that meets awarding body standards
Course Duration: 8 weeks, 3 hours, 3 times a week
Course Outline:
- Foundations of Teaching Roles of a trainer and assessor, adult learning principles, communication skills, and creating a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Lesson Planning & Course Design writing learning objectives, preparing lesson plans, structuring training sessions, selecting teaching methods, and preparing learning materials.
- Training Delivery Techniques Classroom management, demonstrations, coaching, questioning methods, group facilitation, and engaging learners during practical and theory sessions.
- Assessment & Evaluation Formative and summative assessment methods, observation of skills, marking assignments, giving feedback, recording results, and maintaining learner evidence.
- Quality Assurance & Professional Practice Assessment standards, documentation, internal verification basics, ethics, digital tools for learning, and continuous professional development.
- Micro-Teaching & Final Project Deliver supervised teaching sessions, assess real/simulated learners, compile a portfolio of evidence, and complete final evaluation for certification.
