This course prepares students to install and maintain solar energy systems. Training includes panel mounting, battery banks, inverters, charge controllers, system sizing, and troubleshooting. Graduates can work in renewable energy companies or start independent solar installation services.

Course Duration: 3 months, 2 hrs, 3 times a week

Course Outline:

Foundations: Solar PV principles, component overview (panels, inverters, batteries).
Site Assessment & Sizing: Insolation, load calculations, system sizing and layout.
Installation Techniques: Mounting, wiring, earthing and inverter commissioning.
Battery Systems & Balance of System: Battery tech, charge controllers and safety.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Performance checks, faultfinding and firmware updates.
Installation Project & Certification: Install a micro-grid or domestic system and pass practical test.
Outcome: Solar installer, renewable energy technician, off-grid solutions provider.
