Carpentry

Description

Hands-on training in woodworking, furniture making, roofing, framing, and interior fittings. Students learn measurement, cutting, assembling, and finishing techniques for residential and commercial construction.

Course Duration: 8 weeks, 2 hrs, 3 times a week

Training Location: Abuja, Garki, Area 11, Ahmadu Bello way

Course Outline:

• Foundations: Timber types, hand and power tools, measuring and layout.

• Joinery Basics: Mortise & tenon, dovetail, lap joints and accurate fitting.

• Structural Carpentry: Framing, roof trusses, stairs and formwork.

• Finishing & Fixtures: Doors, windows, cabinet doors and finishing touches.

• Site Practice & Safety: Scaffolding basics, material handling and site management.

• Build Project & Assessment: Construct a piece of furniture or small structure to spec.
  Outcome: Carpenter, joiner, site foreman, furniture maker.
