Course Details
These International Vocational Qualifications (IVQs) is a comprehensive course that will provide you with a wide range of skills to enable you to develop and use appropriate engineering knowledge, techniques, and tools.
These qualifications a provide you with a broad understanding of electrical components, electrical systems, diagnostics, instrumentation, and digital design, in addition to gaining practical experience in designing, building, and analysing residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systems
Depending on the level you choose you’ll cover the basics or develop specialist knowledge and skills in areas like energy distribution and utilisation and controlled systems.
These IVQs are for anyone interested in developing an engineering career. There are also courses for experienced engineers and managers.
IVQ Level
Certificate in Engineering
This level is ideal for school leavers considering a career in engineering and this level provides a basic understanding of engineering principles.
Diploma in Engineering
This level is ideal if you’re a school leaver with some engineering knowledge and experience, or you req vuire some engineering skills in your role. You will develop your understanding and practical experience of specific engineering technologies.
Diploma in Engineering – Electrical and Electronic Engineering
This level is ideal for experienced learners with an understanding and practical experience of specialist engineering technologies and principles.
There are seven qualifications available at Level 3 all of which are included in the Advanced Engineering Manufacture Apprenticeship framework.
Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
This Diploma is aimed at learners who –
- wish to gain employment as an Engineering Technician
- wish to progress into higher-level Engineering qualifications
- intend to advance into the second year of a selected university engineering degree programme.
It also aims to contribute to recognition by professional institutions.
This qualification allows learners to learn, develop and practice the advanced skills required for employment, career progression, or university progression in the engineering sector. It will also allow learners to build their knowledge of the principles of mathematics, science, and technologies that underpin engineering.
Advanced Technician Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
This Advanced Technician Diploma is aimed at learners who –
- wish to gain employment as Advanced Engineering Technician
- wish to progress into higher level Engineering qualifications
- and intend to advance into the third year of a selected university engineering degree program.
It also aims to contribute to recognition by professional institutions.
It allows learners to learn, develop and practice the advanced skills required for employment, career progression or university progression in the engineering sector. It will also allow learners to build their knowledge of the principles of mathematics, science, and technologies that underpin engineering.
